Discover the vibrant intersection of feminism, disability, and pop culture in Genevieve Ramos's powerful acrylic canvases.

Genevieve Ramos (she/her/ella) is an American painter and disability advocate. Her visual works, characterized by a pop culture aesthetic and vibrant acrylic colors on canvas, focus on themes of feminism and disability, aiming to uplift her voice and her communities. In 2022, she co-founded and is a member of a cross-disability artist collective called Cuerpos Justificados (Justified Bodies).

Her accomplishments include being an Artist in Residence with the Disability Culture Activism Lab (DCAL) in 2021 and receiving a 3Arts/Bodies of Work fellowship in Chicago in 2022. Genevieve earned a bachelor’s degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Northeastern Illinois University in 2021 and her certificate in Painting from the School of the Art Institute in 2024. Most recently, she was awarded the ‘Elevating Diverse Voices’ award with GoodHart residency in Michigan.

Genevieve believes her story is a powerful tool for connection and change. Her journey, along with the intersection of her identities, experiences, and advocacy work, provides a rich and compelling narrative that drives her visual art.
